Winter Break Camp 2024/25

Natural Cycles Monday, Dec 30 – Friday, Jan 3

With the birth of a new year, we decided to focus this camp on learning about cycles in nature that we are constantly experiencing. Be it the cycle of a day or the change of seasons on an annual basis, and how plants and animals respond to those changes. Come join us as we explore this subject throughout the natural world throughout this creative week.

For children grades K - 6

Daily program times are 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

During the school year, Articulture follows the academic holiday calendars for both the Minneapolis and St. Paul Public Schools. Camps may run 4 to 5 days on different weeks depending on the calendar of each school district.

Offered:                                             

  • Curriculum varies each day            

  • Full-day programming                    

  • Enrollment dictates if ages are divided                  

  • Extended care AM & PM options are available (details below)

  • Snacks & juice ($1 each) - optional

Please bring:

  • Bag lunch and two snacks

  • Water bottle - recommended

  • Appropriate seasonal outdoor gear for park during play time

  • Remember - DRESS FOR MESS

What does a creative day look like?

School release days are broken up into three parts

Morning:

  • Drop off is 8:50 - 9:00 am*

  • Students go into the studio classroom at 9 am

  • The teaching artist will do introductions as needed, and begin art instruction in relation to the theme of the day

  • Morning session is 9 - noon 

  • Morning 15-minute snack break is midway during the session, and weather determines if class will go out back for some fresh air  

 Noon break:

  • Lunch is a half hour 12:00 - 12:30 pm, and weather dictates if lunch is outside or in

  • 12:30 - 1:00pm the class will gear up and go across the street to Triangle Park to play

  • The park has a full playground, swings, and a climbable dragon sculpture

 Afternoon:

  • 1:00pm class session starts

  • Afternoon 15-minute snack break is midway during the session, and weather determines if class will go out back or stay inside.   

  • Class day ends at 4:00 pm

  • Pickup is 4:00 - 4:10 pm*

 Extended Care:

  • Before care is 8:00 - 9:00 am 

  • After care is 4:00 - 5:30 pm 

 NOTES:

  • * If students are dropped off in the morning before 8:50 am or picked up in the afternoon after 4:10 pm, there is a charge for extended care

  • Extended care has free time to play games, draw, read, etc., there is no structured programming during this time

  • If students are picked up after 5:30 pm there is a charge of $1 per minute
