Teaching positions
Part-Time Teaching Artists
Articulture seeks part-time contractual teaching artists with experience in various visual fine arts disciplines for children, teen, and/or adult classes.
We are also seeking artists who can teach fine crafts such as spoon carving, leather shoemaking, fabric dying, felting, etc. Additionally, we are interested in opportunities to offer classes of unique arts disciplines.
Teaching opportunities:
We offer year-round visual arts classes and workshops to adults, teens, and children, which includes an extensive summer art camp program for both children and teens.
We have relationships with a number of MPS after school programs who turn to us for quality arts programming. These teaching positions are ongoing throughout the school year. We also offer in school art-in-residencies as requested.
We have grant funded partnerships working with social service organizations to offer Art and Healing classes for vulnerable populations. This program focuses on self-identity, self-worth, a sense of belonging, and exploring loss and hope through creativity. Past programs have been with adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses, women in substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation, homeless children, affordable housing programs, homeless adults, at-risk teens, and adults with cognitive and physical disabilities.
There are occasional opportunities to work on community public art projects. The Youth Arts Collaborative (YAC) public art program engages urban teens, teamed with our teaching artists, to problem solve with organizations and communities through the creation of public art. The core of our community public art projects revolve around youth mentoring and issues of social change.
