Creating change through Public Art

Youth Arts Collaborative (YAC)

Articulture began public art projects in 2009 with a mural on the side of our building. We enlisted area teens to spearhead the project as an engaging way to introduce them to the realm of public art. The creative team of youth and lead artists sought input and assistance from community members, enabling locals to participate in the beautification of their own neighborhood. Inspired by the success of this collaborative community project, we began to seek other teen-driven public art opportunities. Since then we have

Having teens contribute to their communities through Youth Arts Collaborative is a powerful experience for all involved in the process.

If you are inspired to support this work, please reach out! Some of the ways we can use help include:

  • Donations - Financial gifts to Articulture help us to facilitate public art projects. We know how to make a dollar stretch. Every bit helps!

  • Public art locations - Finding sites can be a challenge, if you know of a site that would support a community art project please let us know.

  • Teen artists - Do you know any youth in your life who may be interested in getting involved with when we have a project to design? about Articulture and they can get involved.

  • Volunteers - The work is periodic. We don't do public art projects constantly. But when we do, we need all hands on deck for an amazing array of work. Everything from helping run community events, preparing food donations for youth, supporting communications efforts, hauling supplies, etc etc etc Visit our volunteer page and fill out the application to get on our contact list when we need help. And if you're excited to be part of Articulture sooner than later, check out the other opportunities we have available for folks who have time and talented to contribute!
